Lucas Orthia
No one was sure what had inspired the man to name his son Lycurgus, perhaps a sense of irony or perhaps divine inspiration... perhaps he had simply liked the name. What ever the reason, Lucas rarely used it, preferring to go by Lucas, especially once he'd reached American soil where the names of foreigners made you a target. Formerly a member of the Greek Armed forces, it was the death of his older brother on military exercise that made Lucas reflect on his life, its meaning, path and purpose. It lacked, Lucas decided, something greater than he could yet reach and that simple realization left him hungrily yearning.
Taking to the road, Lucas sort answers and found instead questions..
Questions in the form of a woman. Its always a woman, trouble, chaos... it always starts and usually ends with a woman.
He could not shake the feeling he had seen the woman before, like a dream of the past but it was the promise of the future that captured his attention as she spoke of things he could not have imagined.
Wonders, power, time.... it was the last that sealed the bargain between them and in the days... and later nights to come, Lucas would come to realize the truth of the woman's offer. Time passed with his Mistress and soon he was as she was and while she sort to keep hold of him, he sort his independence and perhaps it is that reason alone that he survived to see another night.
In truth, even Lucas cannot say with any certainty what happened that night though he has his suspicions. There was blood.. there was fire..and there was ash. Gone was his Mistress like a shadow and never again did he see those others his Mistress had shared her gift with, those who should have been brothers but always eyed their mistress with a hungers intent.
That was a few years ago now, the past was the past so when an old friend arranged for his Passage to America, Lucas could do nothing but accept and found himself suddenly in Necro.. a new night, a new path
